Two strangers meet by chance in a highway-side motel but as their stay goes on, we begin to wonder if their meeting was by chance at all.
The debut feature of Academy Award qualifying and St Kilda Best Film-winning writer and director Peter Skinner, Two Ugly People is a romance mystery that delves into the at times nightmarish reality of trying to live within a fantasy.
Submerging us in the thrilling yet heart-wrenching love story of two ‘strangers’, Two Ugly People reveals a tangled mystery of desire, guilt and grief through a raw and emotional cinematic character study reminiscent of Coppola’s Lost in Translation, Hitchcock’s Vertigo, and Wong Kar-Wai’s In The Mood For Love.
TWO UGLY PEOPLE was Pre-Selected for the 2024 Venice Film Festival and is looking for it’s World Premiere, seeking distribution and a sales agent.
